Tags

Label resources with tags, let assistants follow a tag, and rename, merge or delete tags for the whole workspace.

A tag is a short word on a resource, such as pricing, hr or 2026. Tags do two things: they organise your list, and they let an assistant read a group of resources without you picking each one.

Add tags

Tag a resource when you add it, or open it later and edit its tags. Type in the tag field and press Enter: you can pick an existing tag or create a new one.

  • A resource carries up to 30 tags.
  • A tag has 1 to 60 characters. Spaces around it are trimmed, and a tag repeated on one resource counts once.
  • In the list, filter by tag. Select several resources to tag them together.

Let an assistant follow a tag

Set an assistant’s knowledge to Tags and choose the tags it follows. It then reads every resource carrying one of them, including resources you add or tag later. You organise knowledge by tagging, and the assistant keeps up. See Assistants.

An assistant that follows a tag no resource carries reads nothing yet.

The workspace tag list

Lookio keeps a list of the workspace’s tags. A tag stays in the list, and in every tag picker, after the last resource that carried it is gone. It leaves the list only when you delete it in the workspace settings.

Each tag shows how many resources carry it and how many assistants follow it.

Rename a tag

Renaming a tag changes it on every resource and every assistant that carries or follows it, in one step. If the new name already exists, the two tags are merged.

Only workspace admins can rename tags. Over the API, a personal connection with the admin scope is needed, because an API key never manages members or tags. See Rename a tag.

Delete a tag

Deleting a tag removes it from every resource and every assistant. The resources stay. An assistant that followed the tag no longer reads the resources the tag brought to it.

Only workspace admins can delete tags. See Delete a tag.

From the API, the CLI and MCP

  • API: List tags, Rename a tag, Delete a tag. There is no tag object: a tag is a word, and the list is what is in use.
  • CLI: lookio tags list, lookio tags rename, lookio tags delete.
  • MCP: list_tags, rename_tag, delete_tag.

Use these docs with your AI tools

An AI agent can read this documentation directly. You do not need an account or an API key. Everything here is public and read-only.

Query these docs via MCP

Recommended

Add this server to Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Mistral, or any tool that supports MCP. Your agent can then search Lookio Docs documentation and read it in full, instead of answering from memory.

https://lookio.app/docs/mcp
  • searchFind the passages that answer a question.
  • fetchRead one page in full, as Markdown.
  • list_pagesSee every page in this documentation.

Query these docs over HTTP

The same tools also work as plain web requests. Use this for scripts, or for any tool that does not support MCP. There is one endpoint per tool. Arguments go in the query string, and the answer comes back as JSON.

https://lookio.app/docs/api/docs/search?query=custom+domain

Read the OpenAPI description. It is built from the same definitions as the tools, so it always matches what the endpoints do.

Read these docs as Markdown

Add .md to any page URL to get its Markdown source. You can also send the headerAccept: text/markdown to the page URL itself.

To read the whole documentation in one file, open llms-full.txt. For a short index of every page, open llms.txt.
