Terms and Conditions
Last updated November 3, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Lookio. By creating an account or using Lookio, you accept them. If you use Lookio for an organisation, you confirm you can accept them for it.
1. Who we are and what Lookio is
Lookio is run by Guillaume Duvernay, a sole trader registered in Germany as Guillaume Duvernay – Unternehmensberatung für digitale Transformation, Richard-Sorge-Straße, 10249 Berlin, Germany (“we”). Contact: hi@lookio.app.
Lookio lets you turn your documents and web pages into AI assistants that answer with sources. It includes the website, the app at dashboard.lookio.app, the API, the CLI, the MCP server, chat widgets and the documentation (the “Services”). Lookio is for people aged 18 and over.
2. Your account
Give accurate information, keep your sign-in secure, and tell us if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for what happens in your workspace, including what the members you invite do. Each person can receive the free welcome credits once. We may refuse or close accounts created to get around that.
3. Credits, plans and payment
- Credits pay for answers. The cost of an answer depends on the query mode and is shown in the app and on the pricing page. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred out of their workspace.
- Plans include credits each month and limits (words stored, pages read, assistants, widgets). Unused monthly credits expire at the end of the period, except any carry-over shown on the Billing page.
- Credit packs are one-time purchases and are valid for 12 months. Credits given as a referral reward are valid for 90 days.
- Who sells to you. Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe is the seller of record of your purchase: it charges you, collects the taxes that apply, issues the invoice and handles refunds and payment disputes, under Stripe’s terms and these terms. Prices are shown in euros.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. An admin can cancel at any time on the Billing page, and the plan then runs until the end of the period already paid. Fees for a period already started are not refunded, except where the law requires it or Stripe grants it. Statutory rights that cannot be waived are not affected.
- Changes. We may change prices and plans. A change to a subscription you already pay for applies from your next renewal, and we tell you before it does.
4. Your content
You keep all rights to your content: your files, web pages, instructions and questions. You give us the right to store, process and send it to our providers as needed to run the Services for you, and nothing more. We do not use it to train AI models.
You confirm that you have the right to upload and use your content and to publish what a public assistant or widget shows. Do not upload content that is unlawful or that infringes the rights of others. If you put personal data of other people in Lookio, you are responsible for having a legal basis to do so. If you publish a widget, you are responsible for informing your visitors that their questions are processed by Lookio.
5. AI answers
Answers are produced by AI models from your content. They can be incomplete, outdated or wrong, even with sources. Check important answers against the cited sources. Lookio is not legal, medical, financial or any other professional advice, and you are responsible for how you use an answer and for any decision taken from it.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, or use Lookio to harm, harass or deceive people;
- try to get around credits, plan limits, rate limits or access controls, or create accounts in bulk to collect free credits;
- overload or attack the Services, scrape them, or probe their security without our written permission;
- resell or share access to your account in a way that goes around a plan;
- try to extract our prompts, models or source code, or reverse engineer the Services except where the law allows it.
We may limit, suspend or end access to protect the Services, other users or ourselves, and we may restrict access from countries where we cannot or choose not to offer the Services.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep Lookio running and improving, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service, a response time, or that a feature will always exist. The Services depend on providers (hosting, AI models, payments) that we do not control. We may change or remove features. If we remove something that you pay for, we tell you in advance.
8. Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time: cancel your plan and delete your workspace or your account in the app. Export what you need first, because deletion is final, subject to the backup period in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if a payment fails and is not resolved, or if the law requires it. We will explain why, unless we cannot.
9. Intellectual property
Lookio, its name, logo, software and documentation belong to us. You get a right to use the Services under these terms, not a transfer of ownership. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely.
10. Liability
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we give no warranty about results, accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose.
We are liable without limit for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, and wherever the law does not allow a limit. In other cases we are liable for slight negligence only when we breach an essential obligation of the agreement, and then only for the damage that was foreseeable and typical, and no more than the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event. We are not liable for lost profit, lost data that you could have exported or backed up, or indirect damage, to the extent the law allows.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For a change that matters, we tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it applies. If you do not agree, you can stop using Lookio and cancel before then. Using Lookio after that date means you accept the new terms.
12. Law and disputes
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. If you are a business, the courts of Berlin are competent, without excluding a mandatory venue. We are not willing or obliged to take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board.
If one part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest stays in force.
